Dubrovnik: an 8.1 km run from Babin Kuk through Lapad

Dubrovnik stretches well beyond its old town. This 8.1-kilometer morning run explores the western part of the city: down from Babin Kuk to the northern waterfront, along the Lapad side of Gruž harbour, then inland through the streets of Lapad to close the loop.

The recording lasts about 53 minutes and gains roughly 91 meters. The elevation profile gives the route its shape: a descent towards the water, a low section beside the harbour, then rolling streets on the way back.

The photos follow the changing waterfront: open water and rocky shore at Babin Kuk, small boats beneath the Franjo Tuđman Bridge, a cruise ship across Gruž harbour, then a glimpse of Miramare Bay on the southern side of the loop.

Babin Kuk to the waterfront

The track starts beside Ulica Iva Dulčića on Babin Kuk, at around 43 meters above sea level. It heads north and drops towards the shore, then turns east along the waterfront path. The first part of the recording settles close to sea level before reaching Ulica Ivana Zajca and continuing towards Lapadska obala.

Around the harbour, then back through Lapad

The route follows the western side of Gruž harbour towards Batala, then continues south through the city streets towards Ulica Pera Čingrije. From there it bends west and north through Lapad, returning along Ulica Iva Dulčića to the starting area. It is a city loop with waterfront stretches and street connections; the highest recorded point is about 57 meters.

Six views along the run

The northern shore opens onto a broad stretch of water, with exposed rocks in the foreground and hills opposite. Further east, the Franjo Tuđman Bridge rises behind the small moored boats; a little further on, Celebrity Constellation fills the view across the harbour. At Batala, a ginger cat crosses a shaded path above the boats. The last photo looks down into Miramare Bay beside Hotel Bellevue, where pale cliffs meet the open Adriatic. Each gallery photo is pinned to its recorded location on the map.
