Cavtat by boat: 20.9 km along the Konavle coast at sunset
The coast changes with the light on this 20.9-kilometer boat trip from Cavtat: pale limestone under trees, orange-lit cliffs, the sun low over the Adriatic and the moon above the town on the way back. The GPS line leaves Cavtat, follows the Konavle coast southeast and returns to the same waterfront area.
The recording lasts 2 hours 19 minutes. Six geotagged photos connect the bends in the route with the shoreline and changing sky. An outboard motor and wake in the gallery identify this as a motorboat outing.

Leaving Cavtat by water
The recording begins by Cavtat’s waterfront and curves around the nearby peninsula before turning southeast. The opening gallery image looks across the water towards a wooded limestone shore. Soon afterwards, the camera points aft: the outboard motor, white wake and a paddleboard trailing behind show how this stretch was travelled.
Along the Konavle coast
Beyond the town, buildings give way to rocky shoreline and scrub-covered slopes. The local tourism board describes Konavle’s steep coastal cliffs as a defining feature of the region. This recording follows the coast southeast of Cavtat, turns offshore and retraces the general direction of the outward leg. The gallery catches the rock in warm evening light; it does not show a landing on a beach.
Sunset on the return
The return provides the most striking change of scene. One photo looks towards the sun low over the sea, its reflection stretching across the water. A later image turns back towards land, where the moon hangs above a dark coastal slope. The photo markers locate both viewpoints on the recorded line, making it possible to connect these two views of the evening sky.
Back towards the waterfront
The final selected photograph brings Cavtat back into view: pale waterfront buildings, a wooded peninsula and mountains behind, with the moon still above the scene. The GPS recording finishes near its starting area after 4,348 points. The outward and return lines are close, but they preserve the boat’s actual course and turns.
Keep the route with the photos
Download the GPX and open it in NomadTracks to explore the trip alongside the gallery. This is a record of one outing, not a nautical chart or a surveyed navigation route. Its useful detail is the combination of the course, elapsed time and geotagged photographs from the water.
